The entire mentoring community mourns for the victims of the tragedy that occurred last Friday in Connecticut at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  The victims at that school, their families and all of the victims of violence, in Maryland and across the country, have our sympathy as we keep their families, their friends and their communities lifted in prayer.

We will continue our firm commitment to assist children in navigating the challenges and opportunities that exist while growing up in a world that is sometimes unstable and frightening.  As we move forward from the immediacy of this tragic incident, we will continue to prepare our mentors to be responsive to the needs of their mentees.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Americashared a short message of sympathy on their Facebook page.  You can link to it and share it with your network.

We will work together to heal as the days progress and diligently continue to assist our children to find comfort and reassurance through quality mentoring.
