Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake has added to our staff family this year.
Nicole Benner has joined our program services team in the Salisbury office. Nicole is a recent graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies-Developmental Science, with minors in Psychology and English. Nicole also has personal experience as both a Little and a Big in the school-based mentoring program.
Bridget Germain has joined our fund development team here in the Baltimore office. Bridget is a Boston College graduate with a degree in Linguistics and Communications and most recently worked for the American Cancer Society running their Relay For Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events.
Leon Henry has joined our program services team in the Baltimore office. Leon returns to us having left in 2011; he is a life-long Baltimore City resident who has been involved in human services for over 20 years. He has held direct care and management positions in variety of areas such as education, juvenile justice, advocacy, workforce development, responsible fatherhood and mentoring.
Torrie Johnson has joined our finance & administration team in the Baltimore office. Torrie's background includes working for Organize by Design, the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts, Rosner Electric Corporation, Sickle Cell Association of Maryland, and Canfield Property Management. She is a Leadership Maryland class member of 2000, and a GBC Leadership member of the class of 1996.
Liza Krohn has joined our program services team in the Baltimore office. Liza is a graduate of Goucher College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Liza comes to us after working as an AmeriCorps at Community Mediation.
Pooja Sampathi has joined our fund development team in the Baltimore office. Pooja is a graduate of Temple University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in business. Pooja comes to us after working for the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts.
Alexa Bensimhon has joined our program services team in the Baltimore office. Liza is a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America where she obtained a Master of Arts degree in Jewish gender and women's studies, with her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College in religious studies. Alexa comes to us after working for Swarthmore College.
